So let me see if I understood you correctly, you have already flashed your phone to a modified firmware and now you want to flash it back to the one you originally had? Or you never flashed your phone but all you want to do is restore the default settings?

Thanks for the advice on the IMEI issue, I had no idea it was such a sensitive information!

I didn't flash my phone yet, but I intend to do so. I really don't like the original software that came with it, it's too sluggish.

From what I could figure out, there are two options for me (please correct me if I am wrong): install a premodded linux mod 4 OR the NO_RSA Evolution 3, using RSD lite software, wich I already downloaded. I am inclined to flash with the NO_RSA Evolution 3.

I want to learn how to restore the phone to its original settings just as a precaution, in case something goes wrong with the flashing and I may have to roll back to the previous firmware. Also, I have already made a backup of my contacts and messages using MPT, but this backup will be useless as soon as I flash my phone, right?

you need RSD Lite 3.9 or higher. you won't find it on MOTODEV. google it.

Hi, every body, I´m new here, can some body help me? I recently buy an unlocked phone and I can´t use a lot of things that came with the phone. For example I follow all the steps in the http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224331 for change or adding a new skin and I can´t do it... also apparently this phone is a touch screen phone and it can´t work either.... I need help step by step.... By the way I´m from Costa Rica so if there is a chance to do in spanish is better. Thanks

There is a spanish V8 section on M3, if you feel more comfortable with spanish then english.

I have a SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!

I've flashed my V8. But when I connect it through a USB chord, the two flash drives created in My Computer don't open when double-clicked; instead a msg is shown: "Please insert a disk...". How do I copy things to my V8 now?

And when I open multimedia, the folders I had previously created in the memory card are not visible. Only when I open photos or videos (which are on the memory card by deafult) and go back, I can see those folders. Same is the thing with the other files lying in the memory card........
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Also, how can I change the background picture visible while browsing the main menu?

And, how to set the alarm when using ORANGE??? The option is not there in the Left Hand Key options...

Lastly, could you please tell me how to revert back to the default programmes on my V8, ie do the "UN"flashing, coz I'm planning to sell it to a friend in a couple of months, and he is not comfortable using Linux... (God knows why!!!)

Uninstall the motorola phone tools and restart your pc, then connect the phone to pc in modem mode, start rsd lite. it should connect.
