The touch buttons are activated by code and when touched they in turn activate another code. If the first initial code is found then it should be possible to write the secondary code the touch button can start when touched.
Once the first code is found and "modded" second code works then the "sky is the limit".

I have flashed V8 having A3.CC bootlader with EVO3 without first flashing the boot. Now the A3.CC bootloader is giving error (A4,1506). how to redo the things? i am very new to flashing any phone. I used RSDlite4.01. the phone was purchased in Mexico and want to use in India.

My V8 was locked to telcel Mexico.

don't panic, everything should be ok. do the following:

1. flash a3.cf bootloader.
2. flash no rsa a3.cf bootloader which is included with evo 3 firmware.
3. flash evolution 3 firmware for your phone model (512mb or 2gb).

No, plain stock skins, but you can add that skin or any other you want.

So far so good, tried this and linux mod 5, for this one tho, i have this question. how come if i connect my v8 to the pc via memory device, it hangs? I mean i have to remove the battery and put it back again to reboot?

that's the problem with most modded firmwares. you should work with files via FTP mode.

and also i wanna address this to ras, sir. ekonsole worked for the 1st try. doesnt open on the 2nd try.. what could be wrong?

Should open always, but if you just closed it and already pressed the menu again then it might now open, as the V8 has not finished the shutdown process.

oh well it does not for me, almost all the other apps won't open. I think i should reflash. anyway. thanks for the reply ras. I'll give you an update as soon as i reflash

i need help!!!! i cant access my drive g:? i install 1 theme the n95 it works.... then when i installed another theme the drive g: can't access anymore.... plz help... wat should i do?

ras got a question, can i simply flash a language file over Evolution 3? V8_LP0039e for that matter? been trying a lot of times already and applications messup if i try to flash a new languange pack. speciall LP0039e. please advice.

and another thing how do i install mplayer. can't seem to make it work. I extracted mplayer.rar and rebooted. mplayer won't open? how do i open it? multimedia - > mplayer won't do anything.

Language management is totally different to "normal" firmware, because what makes Evo 3 is all in the CG46, the "traditional" language pack CG. See the Language Guide in the Evo3 User Guide. You just have to copy some files/folders to add a new language, iTap etc.
MPlayer (the menu in Multimedia) needs to have /mmc/mmca1/Programms/MPlayer/scripts/MPlayer, as this is the only path with which MPlayer will work (this path is hard coded into MPlayer). Because the 512MB V8 does not have a /mmc/mmca1 path use /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/Programms/MPlayer/scripts/MPlayer because on the 512 MB V8 this path is symlinked to /mmc/mmca1/Programms/MPlayer/scripts/MPlayer, so that the MPlayer can work on the 512MB V8.
