New user Questions
Ok so I have RSD Lite downloaded, I have the new bootloader and the new linux3a (2gb) both dl also. I know what I need to do, but what WILL it do? I have searched and searched for the purpose of flashing but all I can seem to find is for themes and skins.
Second question is I have a unlocked GSM version. My carrier is a local provider that doesnt use any carrier locked phones. What I need to know is will I still be able to use my WAP and MMS just by re entering my settings?
And last, are there any issues i should know before attempting to flash. i know it voids the warranty.
Thanks in advanced,
Brandon

Well, you need to upgrade your bootloader to A3.CF because it has better compatibility with all firmwares.
Later you have to flash the NoRsa bootloader A3.CF.
It allows you to use unsigned firmwares, non original motorola firmwares, so you can enjoy all mpkg apps, skins, themes, and new features.
Modded firmwares (MP) does not lock your phone at all with any carrier
Probably the new MP you flash wonīt contain your WAP and MMS settings for your carrier, but once you set data connections again, you can use WAP and MMS without problems.
-When flashing, if it shows Please power on manually your phone, disconnect the data clable, and without closing RSD lite, remove your battery and place it again, then turn it on in BL mode and reconnect it to pc. Now RSD lite should show PASS.
-Charge fully your battery before flashing.
-Backup your data before flashing.
-In case you need to restore your original fw, you can download and flash the original firmware again. Check HERE if itīs yours. Or else, you can flash another one.

Unless you drop it to the toilet or you throw it to the wall, almost all problems can be solved by flashing, except a flex problem

Flash your bootloader to A3.CF (in case you have a different boot version), later flash the NoRsa boot A3.CF, and later the MP you want (all with RSD lite).
If you want, you can continue using your original firmware before going to flash the MP (i mean, after flashing NoRsa)
I recommed this MP due to it is more complete and recent.
There it also explains the flashing process.
Select the downloading link depending of your V8 version (512Mb or 2Gb phone)

another question plz .. when i connect my phone to PC should it be in boot-loader (means to press * , # ,close button) or just open my phone and connect
thank you again .. I have read every article in flash ... just i get confused about that point

If you charge fully your battery before starting the flashing process, then you dont need to recharge it between the steps, just once when beginning.i am sorry i want to be clear about that , what do u mean by " later "
means flash A3.CF then reconnect my phone .. recharge it again .. connect it to pc .. flash NoRsa .. reconnect again .. then flash the firmware or just close & open RSD lite
So:
(1): flash A3.CF - (2): when it shows PASS disconnect your phone from pc, remove your battery and insert it again to turn it on in bootloader mode.
(3): Flash NoRsa A3.CF, repeat (2)
(4): Flash the MP - Wait until RSD lite shows PASS and thatīs all.
Anyway, before the step (4), you can continue using the previous firmware...
PD: It may be possible that instead of showing PASS, RSD lite shows "Please manually power up your phone". If so, then disconnect it from pc, (donīt close RSD lite!!), remove your battery and insert it again to turn it on in bootloader mode. Now, when reconnecting to pc, it should show PASS.
Yes, press * + # + the power button.another question plz .. when i connect my phone to PC should it be in boot-loader (means to press * , # ,close button) or just open my phone and connect
thank you again .. I have read every article in flash ... just i get confused about that point
Anyway, you can connect it normally to pc, but it must be in modem mode. The RSD lite will automatically (or it should)) put it in bootloader mode when starting to flash.
