Greetings fellow Aussie. I have a friend who had a Telstra V9 with GPS support, so I guess it should be possible. Should be GPS software already on the phone for it. Contact Telstra.

hmm! that's interesting! i think the problem might be that I'm on like a 5 year old sim card and now they have moved to this net g network so i think I'll have to go see if i can get a new sim but same number hopefully!!

i shall post back with update on how that goes! ugh i hate telstra haha!

I bought my V9 in Canada from Fido operator.Now im in other country and i want to use my GSM with other SIM in other network.I tried everything from this guide,but no result.I flash my phone with all R263311 firmware including Unlocked Telstra Australia R263311-AS_U_9C.13.43R_LP0055_USEMERALDAUTELR26331062 ,but every time the result its same "Enter Subsidy Password".Its any way to remove or reset this code.Pls help!!!

Your phone is locked to Fido and needs to be unlocked so that you can use another carrier. The easiest way is to buy an unlock code. There should be some sponsered links here on M3.

i tried to flash bootloader 07.90 to my V9 (i currently have 05.80 bootloader) - BL_0790_umts_emerald2100_ornand_rom.sbf. but RSD Lite 4.4.1 writes the following error:

ERROR: Flash failure: Phone[0000]: The superfile selected is NOT for reflash. Please use a reflash superfile. (Error Code: 39),
Detailed Error Details: Direction of the Error=No Direction, Command Value=4400000, Code Group Number=257 - on device ID 0.

so, it's still impossible to upgrade to 07.90 bootloader without testpoint?

No it isn't even with TP. The V9 and ORNAND V9 are different models.

I have a RAZR2 V9 that I bought online, as far as I know it comes from Hong Kong, it has unbranded and unlocked firmware, I live in Mexico and want to be able to use it with the 3G network, but it never goes beyond 2.5G.

I can't find the firmware used here in mexico for Telcel (my carrier), so I'd like to have the next best thing available for my phone.

Just as an FYI here in Mexico the 850/1900 or something like that is used for 3G, unlike 2100 used elsewhere.

I wouldnt mind having this phone locked for my carrier, or unlocked, as long as I can get the best out of it, like the 3G, MMS, GPRS, EDGE and so on.

Anyways, my phone currently has this:
Bootloader: 05.80
SW Version: R263313-AS_U_A0.03.21R

Could somebody help me with this and tell me what to get for it and if possible where to get it?

Firmware for your carrier does not exist and you will never be able to catch 3G on 850/190 with your V9.

and i want to get that the battery of my v9 works more than 1-2 days, (actually works thats).

Can I use the firmware?:

to get it. Wich firmware is newer? I think i cant use a older one. I have always to do upgrade and never downgrade. For that, i want to know wich is newer: mine or this.

a) take a backup before
b) if we don't have that firmware, please submit a request so we may try get it

I already do the backup with F&B 3, but wich program do you recomend to write the new firmware: F&B 3 or RSD lite?

And if it fails, i want to use the backup, i have to write it with F&B 3 or RSD lite?

The new firmware may be sticky. This means the firmware code cannot be flashed back, but the main things (settings, language packs etc.) can be flashed back without problems.

I recommend when flashing stock MP RSD Lite. With backup it does not matter.
