making skins for L9

i wonder how u modders make skins........

i've got some ideas in mah mind......n want to make a 9 icons 1*1 skin by my own....... is there any good and EASY to use software to make such skins?

also plz inform me any precautions to be taken.........i've got SLVR l9 whose RSA is not removed yet.........im always afraid of doing that......

modders can also give links to existing forums if any.........

u knw? the skinn "castle" (an old skin though)worked perfectly on my L9......so i opened it in Skinner4moto and went to GIF directory....and on trial basis replaced the original Gif icon of "Recent calls" with the one which i made.......then i saved it n installed the modified theme on my phone........but now in my phone it shows an empty space when i go to "Recent calls" in main menu..... :-(

hence this trick didn't work well...... have any other suggestion?


im attaching the menu icon 4 "Recent calls" which i made.......i took care of making it of exact dimensions and size as that of the original skin....... n yeah i converted it to Gif before installing......

use any gif animator and add a blank layer as second layer , in ZKL phones animated icons must have atleast 2 frames

okie i'll try it out....... do u think i'll be able to make a new skin by this method?
