[Guide] Installing the Drivers in Vista & XP
This guide is to assist you in installing the P2K drivers for Vista and XP. I am using Vista Ultimate for the screenshots.
This is probably the easiest way to install the drivers yet.
This will work on 32bit and 64bit versions of Vista and XP.
During this process you may be asked to allow an unsigned driver, click yes, you will be prompted several times, just stick with it and keep clicking yes.
Here are the links to the drivers
32bit - http://developer.motorola.com/docsto...et_USB_Driver/
64bit - http://developer.motorola.com/docsto...USB_Driver_64/
1.Download the driver. (You need to create an account at motodev to download)
2.Unrar the driver installer with winrar or similar.
3.Run the driver installer.
4.Now depending if you have installed the drivers prior to this or not, you will get one of the following screens.
.
If you get the screen asking to repair or remove the Motorola Driver Installation, select “Remove the Motorola Driver Installation” and then click finish. Now go back to step 3.
If you get the screen on the right goto step 6.
6.Click “Next”
7.Now Agree to the License Agreement, and click “Next”

8.Once the installation is done click “Close”

9.Now plug in your phone, Windows should detect it and automatically install the drivers for the “Motorola USB Modem”

10.Run a p2k app, such as RSD or p2ktools. When your phone switches to p2k mode, Windows will automatically install the remaining drivers.

The last driver "Flash interface" will not be installed until you either try to flash your phone, or you start the phone in bootloader mode and plug it in.

Enjoy.

Hello,
I am probably the biggest noob that owns a v3xx. I've done everything that is in this guide and I still can't get my computer to recognize my phone. The only thing I am looking to mod on this phone is to be able to put mp3's on the phone and custom backgrounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have vista, i had to take the security off in @run msconfig. That is if you get that problem with the "unsigned exe, install anyway" thing that repeats so you can't install the motorola usb drivers.

Well MPT 4 works just fine for me. It's only when I run a P2K app that it ask for the new drivers. I point it to the 2.9 P2K drivers but it doesn't accept them.

"This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor."

The new driver causes problems for me as well. I can't get it installed. It always brings up some sort of error. We need the older version.

Nope, me neither... can't "get connected". I installed drivers from Motorola... but i run p2k and it won't connect. Then i run drivers from p2k download pkg; they seem to install - but p2k still doesnt detect phone.
Is there a step missing here? I am pretty new do modding a phone - does it need to be unlocked somehow before any of this can work?
