Yes, And Clarkey does know, he tested it when it was new. Probably just a reading mistake.

Yes that was the P2KTools guide! Thanks Dumba. I came across it a while back but can't remember when.
I'm experimenting with different back up utilities because I've always used Scotty2's V3i backup. It does the job, but I want one with more functionality.
With F&B3, do you guys recommend to check "Cut empty bytes at the end of code groups"? What exactly does it do? Compress the backup?Last edited by kathy025; 09-27-2009 at 07:01 AM.

Yeah. At the end of each CG, I believe, there is a LOT of "FF." In the ARM setup, FF is actually empty. So rather than having a huge file, you can cut the empty bytes for a smaller file.
However, some patches have a problem with that, particularly ELF, since they use the addresses that normally are filled with FF.
_.__.__._I have retired. If you PM me, I may not reply.

The original post & guide posted so many years ago said you couldn't do a full backup without being registered.. The link to the registration page is dead...
I don't see anything within the F&B3 program about registering.(3. Registration Page, Must be registered for complete backup)
Am I getting a full backup or not?
If not.. what am I missing? Can I manually back that up?
