[Guide] How To Backup With Flash & Backup 3
How To Backup With Flash & Backup 3
By Clarkey
Here is the well awaited guide
OK lets just get some things done first
1. Get Connected
2. Download Flash & Backup 3.0.9
After all has been completed then we can proceed
1 .Connect Phone
2. Open Flash&Backup3
3. Select Active Phone Profile
4.Check All Boxes
5. Change Backup Format To SHX (S-Records File)
6 Then Click Read Data
7. Backups will be saved here

at last we have a guide for making a backup using FB3. tnx Clarkey. this should minimize backup question.

SHX File created by F&B is completely wrong with any models, infact if you flash it RSD often gives error, so it is fine backup in BIN/SHX and re-build SHX with SHX CoDec or SBF ReCalc or best solution: in HEX.
F&B wrong any parts of header (the descriptors)

you're right. you need to fix the header. but FB3 is the easiest way to do it and you can flash it even if it has wrong header and gives error.

i flashed my phone with a monster pack i made from fb3 and i didnt get any errors

you used RSD Lite 3? there should be an error in the end.

With F&B you will don't find error because it didn't control the descriptors but only CG's Adresses.
RSD Lite alway control Header (Ram Downloader too before sending) and if it is wrong you will see an error.

After you backup, there should be a folder with today's date and your backup inside of it.

Just recently acquired F&B3 and read at MotoX sometime ago that backups from F&B can't be flashed to other phones because it also backs up PDS?

Of course not. That was the old Flash And Backup 2.62 with FB3 you can backup and flash to other phones, How do you think we make monsterpacks?
