:::HOW TO FLASH A PHONE WITH "BATTERY LOW CANNOT PROGRAM":::
I ran into trouble with the battery problem also. Here's how I solved that problem. Read first. Then proceed at your own risk!
You will need a spare USB cable (will be cut). Any printer or scanner ones.
Cut the end that has the square plug (not the computer flat plug side)
Strip the red and black wires. Red is Vcc (+5) and black is ground. Get the 2 other wires and excessive out of the way.
Remove the battery and you will see 4 contact pins on the phone that the battery contact pins goes to (it flexes up and down).
Hook the red usb wire (+5) to the far left pins (towards the camera flash).
Hook the black usb wire (ground) to the far right (towards the sim card).
Make sure the red is not touching any other metal except the pin. If necessary, secure with electrical tape.
Verify the connections by looking at the polarity label on the battery itself.
Plug the usb into the computer and that should solve the battery problem.
Plug the USB data cable to your phone and reflash or do whatever you need to do.
Make sure you unplug the cable from the computer before removing the wires from the pins.
Basically, it's just bypassing the battery. Hopes that helps.Last edited by hitdabrake; 06-02-2007 at 10:06 PM.

As much as this sounds good in theory, I couldn't get it to work.

Went back and tried it again. Works fine. Don't think I forgot anything in the instruction, except for maybe turn on the phone. Perhaps plug in the data cable too??

I'll try it again really fast. Mighta missed something.
Got it to work for a second, then it stopped. Plus, it was stuck on the "HelloMoto" screen.Last edited by sebgonz; 06-03-2007 at 12:07 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yeah, I got stuck on the moto screen too, until I retried it with the data cable plugged in. Then it said insert sim card.
The last time I did it was when I got the 35:02 error or something and my battery ran out so it wouldn't let me flash. There's probably some kind of verification going on, but when I had the error, there was no brain to do so. So this is probably good for reflashing purposes and not as an alternate powersource.

I got it to work. It's very fidgety and a PITA to get it right, but once you do, it works just fine.
I don't know about you, but I need to see some evidence, so here's some proof it works .
This is my phone hooked up to the computer with my USB and the makeshift charger. Note: You HAVE to turn on your phone for this to work.

Here's how it's connected. I made little loops and hung it off my desk to make sure they didn't touch.

Better picture of the same thing.

And here's proof it's working.

simply awesome! that should help with the "bricked" phones out there quite a bit! will it hurt the phone though? 'cuz the battery says it's 3.7 volts, but the usb cable will supply 5 volts.

Didn't hurt MY phone. Plus, think about it. You charge your phone with a 5 volt USB cable while it's plugged in anyway. Has it hurt it yet?

Here is this method working on my nearly bricked v3xx, it was very hard to get the wires wrapped around the pins. As you can see, after getting the wires in place I used the battery with electrical tape over it's connectors to wedge everything in place. This takes a lot of patience but heres proof of it working. (I can't get a pic of the screen because I don't want to try to move the phone after all the time it took to get this far) Now to fix what I did to brick the thing in the first place.

Thank you hitdabrake for the idea!!! and thanks to 98xploder for pointing me to it!!!Last edited by ezekielblaze; 01-16-2008 at 01:47 PM. Reason: forgot to say THANK YOU!!!!!

Better is u use 5V for some time than keeping it bricked!!
Also, can we use 3.7 V battery cell instead??Last edited by hrushighatpande; 02-01-2008 at 05:51 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

This thread is cool. So the red wire is plugged on the positive connector and the black on the negative terminal right?
