V3re Phonebook
I am having a devil of a time trying to find someway to edit my phonebook. MPT 4.x and 5 will show the phonebook contents, but not allow me to edit them.
Anyone have a way to make edits?
Thanks!

Yeah, there is no problem editing on the phone, other than it is slow cumbersome and tiring to edit 3 or more numbers plus email addys and addresses from the keypad. not to mention if I copy any entry from the sim, the phone numbers all appear as OTHER.

It will connect in AT mode, but nothing shows in the phone book area. When I try to refresh the phone book, I get " is not a valid integer value. All of the Add Delete etc button are faded out and unavailable.
Guess my thumbs have a lengthy date with the keypad!

I have this same 'valid integer' problem with P2kTools. Did anyone come up with anything for this, any ideas? If not, has anyone found a program that allows you to upload/dl your phonebook on a V3re?
Thanks!

have you tried connecting your phone and then switching it over to AT mode..if not try that i was able to go in and change every thing on mine i also have all the updated drivers and the new P2K tools 3... you have to make sure that p2k is reading your phone before you can change it over to AT mode

I spent some time beating my head off the wall with this one to. After several failed attempts with various P2K apps I decided to give the oficial Motorola Phone Tools a try. Believe it or not it worked.
Synced my contact file from outlook with 0 errors..
Give that a try and see if it solves your problem.

Just spent 10 mins looking into the "not a valid integer" problem.
In the same folder as the P2KTools3.exe you will see a file called 'config.ini'
Open config.ini and scroll down untill you see;
[AT_Mode]
Port=COM6
TimeOut=30000
BaudRate=115200
;0 - стандартный, 1 - расширенный (ROKR E1), 2 - V3x
PhoneBookType=3
PhoneBookType=3 is the invalid integer. Change PhoneBookType=3 to PhoneBookType=0 and save the change.
P2kTools should now display the V3re phone book. If the refresh doesn't work, click on AT mode again so P2KTools recognizes your phone again.
Tested on Versions 3.0.8.864 and 3.0.9.961

Some of my phonebook entries have some chinese characters. I tried to used both MPT and P2kTools to edit and backup/restore the phonebook, but all the chinese characters will be changed to a "?". Is there a way to keep the characters not changed?
