Phone crashes after pressing "send to" for texting

I just got into modding my phone yesterday, and things have been going along fine. Except that, after doing some seem editing (stupidly, many at a time, and without backing stuff up) I seem to have broken the SMS functions. Message composition and templates work fine, but when I press the right soft key for "send to" to view the contact list and choose recipients, the phone locks up. The keypad backlight turns off, everything's frozen for a sec (I never actually see my contacts) and the phone restarts. As far as I can tell, all other functions are fine; is there a seem edit which could have caused this? From selective flashing of partial monster packs, I determined it's in the flex, which I presume to include the seems. I know I could easily fix it by reflashing with a MP, but that'd be a bit of a pain unless there's a simple way to selectively flash my old images/ringtones/contacts while keeping whatever settings in the MP stop the crashing.

Edit: Could it be a file missing? What files would I need to flash or just transfer through p2k to clear my phonebook, in case something in that area's causign the crashes?

itap dictionary is full, clear it

Message composition and templates work fine, but when I press the right soft key for "send to" to view the contact list and choose recipients, the phone locks up. This has nothing to do with the itap dictionary; my symptoms only occur after writing a message, when I try moving to the "send to" screen, while itap dictionary-related freezes occur upon opening the "compose message" dialogue.
