some questions.
I just got my new phone in the mail today. I previously had a v3m, now, based on my
Flex: GSTRAZR06ATT01NA0f0
and S/W: R3442A_G_0E.43.0AR
Before I had successfully unlocked v3m and put my own games on it. So heres a list of programs I still have:
p2k seem edit
midway 2.8
pst 7.2.3
[jad maker, flashbackup 2.62]
and
motorola phone tools.
So my question is, well.. this is a v3re right, and im safe to do what I did to my v3m? or are there complications/ differences that I should know about.
I have many many games from v3m, will these all work? I saw a post by 'trickybitch' about changing stuff with games, does this relate to me and my v3m games.
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21559
Also, if anyone has heard of NEScube, if you think it would run on this phone, cuz my v3m was very lagy in comparison to what I have now.
thanks in advance

if the games are java they should work..............no harm in trying
that nescube sounds like an emulator
emulators wont work on p2k phones like v3re

Using this guide Ive had to modify pretty much all of my jad files to get them to work. Mobiles24.com is a free site. After you register you get like 30 downloads a day. They come with the jad files but wouldnt work untill I used textpad editor and checked the jad files with this guide. Sometime stuff was missing sometimes way to much stuff was in the file in the wrong places. Anyway to make a long post longer - I now have about 180 games for our phones that work great. A few apps also like flash/strobe light/med. dictonary/Bible....and more. Hope this helps.
Generate JAD from JAR file
Some phones won't be able to download jar files above some size unless a JAD file is used to
get information about the jar file first.
If you have a jad file skip to #4, otherwise to create a jad file from jar file:
1. Extract the jar file (If you don't know about a program to extract it, you can always rename it to zip and then extract it.)
2. Locate the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file and copy it to where the jar file is located.
3. Rename the copied MANIFEST. MF to the same name as the jar file but with jad extension.
4. Open the copied file or the jad file in text editor and edit the file as follows:
A. Delete the lines, if they exist, that begin with:
1. MIDIet-Jar-URL:
2. MIDIet-Jar-Size:
B. Add the following lines:
1. MIDIet-Jar-URL: followed by a space character and the full jar filename.
2. MIDIet-Jar-Size: followed by a space character and size (in bytes)of the jadfile
C. Make sure the following lines exist, if they're not add each of them followed by space and its
corresponding value:
1. MIDIet-Name:
2. MIDIet-Version:
3. MIDIet-Vendor:
D. Fix the following lines:
1. It can cause problems if you have a non numeric text in the MIDIet-Version: line
(. ) a dot is permitted, so you can just remove the non-numeric characters from
the version value.
2. Sometimes line's value will wrap to the next line. You should fix this, so that the
whole value of that line will be on the same line. Happens a lot on MIDIet-1,2&3.
**It is safe to delete all lines that DO NOT begin with the following:**
1. MIDIet-
2. MicroEdition-
**It is safe to delete lines:**
1. Nokia-MIDIet-Category: Game
**If the application's certificate is causing problems on installation, the lines that begin with the following
can be removed:***
1. MIDIet-Certificate-
2. MIDIet-Jar-RSALast edited by modnmotos; 10-30-2008 at 04:41 PM.

I'm in school, so I cant check this out right this second, but I have a program that you drag-and-drop Jar files, and it makes JAD files. do you know of this? or where you saying it doesnt work, and this is the only way.
just asking.

What Im saying is Ive found is our phones or midway are "picky" about what info is in the jad file. Most jad files that have come with the games I downloaded would cause errors(just wouldnt download/work or phone would say error). Nothing serious. Just deleted them and moved on.
IM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE ONLY WAY! Try your program If it works let me know Ill start using it. It sounds alot easier than the way I do it.
Im not an expert but from what I know you are pretty safe with installing/deleting games on your phone, no complications that Ive seen posted.Last edited by modnmotos; 10-29-2008 at 04:56 PM.

Well. hehe. It was a really big pain at first, because the seem editors i kept downloading were all different and there were so many guides and then alot of them just kept giving me a hard time. I odnt remember what i ended up using in the end but it worked out, after i unlocked the seem for the Java ap, it was pretty easy from there.
I used the midway version befor eit got translated, lol. At first it would time out but I found from this fourums that I just had to individually try all the COM ports.
So I got midway to work.
its go time from there
I got a giant list of games from awhile back, most of them work, like Xmen 2 legens, adventure island, mario movil [super mario but it sucks hardcore], DDR, and the Zelda mobil [awesome, if you don tknow about it]
I went to jarfiles dot com i think, er.. getjar * and i found a pokemon yellow emulation for my phone.
I have a virtual clel phone program that plays JAR-JAD files on my ocmputer in the shape of a phone program, so i see if they play/arnt harmful. And the pokemon game worked, but it runs at 0 FPS on my cell phone.
rare occasions, things wont work. but its mostly good to go.
I just cant find many games besides xmen and zelda that are awesome.
~
But anyways, the program I have I just drag the JAR and it makes JAD, I'm at school right now, so ill be able to tell you the exact name of it later, or post it up here or something

I am sorry
Ive been doing this stuff so long Im forgetting to tell people the simple stuff or the 1st steps like- turning on java app loader(which I use P2KToolsVS_3.0.7.759updated_by_mmuk its even simpler no seem edits you just check a little box in front of java app loader and it turns it on for ya.). Sorry.
The names of the programs you used would be great. Maybe we could exchange a list of games and swap what we dont have(email).RAZR, ROKR, BRAVO & ATRIX 2

its called JADMaker [go figure] lmao. Google gave some resultes, i didnt try theirs, but hopefully it works. It opens somewhat of a blank window, but you just drop the JAR into it and it pops out your JAD int he same folder.
I have roughly 850 games, some dont work, ALOT OF THEM ARE STUPID.
repetative too, racing games, tetris, x999 lol. But a bunch! i have not even looked at. But there are a couple good ones.
And you know about the Zelda 1 [NES zelda] for cell phone? someone re did the graphics, and its in a deep stage. Its pretty neat, though its really easy on the cell phone. I also have Megaman one. Its neat too, the thing is for these games is the fast-past-getting pwned hard by zooming enemies isnt there. The enemies speeds are cellphone reasonable. Not lag or anything, its just they dont fly across the screen lmao.
I have them in zip format, the way they came [god only knows where i got them, or how long it took to find them, but i did about a year ago, lol]. Its about 200kb total, or so.Last edited by Clarkey; 10-31-2008 at 10:26 PM.
