Help backing up files

Hello!

So I want to back up my files and what not so that I can use motospeed, but when I click the "Read Data" in F&B3, it just sits there and then says:

Turning phone to Flash-mode...

*** Operation end (11/29/2008 12:49:57 AM) **

P2KTools, says my phone is connected, and RSD Lite says my phone is connected. What gives? When I plug my phone in it makes the Windows sound that something was plugged in, but then it makes the sound that something was unplugged, and then the noises repeat once more. What is going on?

Ok, your phone connects, then it disconnects and reconnects in P2k mode (because P2kTools and RSD Lite are running.) That's what's up with the sounds.

First thing is first, and I know this is an annoying question, but you need to give some more info in your posting. Do you have F&B 3.0.7? Does F&B show that your phone is connected? Are you using the v3re/v3_06 profile?

And did you check all the "CG1" "CG2" &c. boxes so that F&B3 knows which files to read?

Alright, sorry I wasn't sure what all I should say.

But I'm was running fb3.0.053, and it does show that my phone is connected. I'll download the newer FB right now.

Also I'm using the v3re profile.

And I did check all the boxes.

I'm not sure if this will help, but with the Motorola phone tools, every time I try to add any type of media my phone "Stop Responding", but then once I exit out of the media screen it responds again. Also while it is not responding in the Motorola phone tools, it still says its connected by P2K Tools, and RSD Lite.

EDIT: The newer version of FB (3.0.7) seems to be working!

I've never been able to get Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) to work. In fact, I've never heard of anybody who's had success with MPT on a v3re. So that's not a concern. Unless MPT is actually causing the problem (which would not surprise me.)

Meh following the MotoSpeed Guide. I changed all the values to 50% less, and I save it, but I don't know which backup file to use.

The guide says:

- Flash the saved DRM with F&B 3. To do this, click write data tab, click add, for the start adress we'll use 10D20000 [For the L6, other phones may be different] and for the Code group Cg15, write data

But I can't just click add, it's either backup or flash file. And it won't let me type in the start address or what not.
