Hm... which MP? And is your phone the same brand as the MP? That wouldn't necessarily show us the cause, but it could give us some clues.
Maybe the gain table somehow got messed up.
Flash to stock and see if that solves it. If not, it's probably the hardware. If so, I'd look at the gain table. If nothing is apparently wrong with that.... then we'll try other stuff

When you call someone there should be a 'mute' option on screen. Check to see if its on. Maybe the mp maker had it 'on' on a call. Then never reset it before they made the mp, so now the defult when you make calls is 'mute' on. Just throughly look through your settings while on a call, you should see that mute option somewhere.

I'd bet it's hardware if two MPs have the same issue.
Flashing back to stock is flashing the backup you made before you started modding. If you didn't back it up, you can try a stock MP from the download section.
Can you record voice notes or voice names or other microphone functions? If the answer to that is also no, it's almost certainly a hardware problem not caused by modding. If your phone is still under warranty, your provider may replace it for you.
If not.... maybe you should try opening it up and seeing what you can do with that. It's risky, but it may be worth a try.

No problem, sorry it's not an easy fix

Is your phone under warranty, or are you going to try opening it up?
