    Ringtone Problems

Can someone help me with a problem I'm having with my Razr Maxx VE? I'm able to send QCP files onto my phone ok with the Mac OS X bluetooth software, and when I test them out with the phone open they play normally on the external speaker. However, when I get a call with them set as my ringtone, the sound comes out of the earpiece speaker and is barely audible at all.

Any idea what I can do to fix this? Or at least point me to a helpful thread.

Try this: open flip and press the volume button (on the left side - the silver one); you will see the volume increasing on your screen.

Second choice: increase your overall volume from the initial settings.

Third choice: check your profile settings>change to Loud Style.

    Greetz!

I've checked all the volume settings and they've been turned up all the way, but it still comes out of the earpiece speaker and not the external one. Also, the Maxx VE doesn't seem to have a Loud Style setting on it.

Do you use a headset? Check your headset settings and if so, remove it, restart phone and see what happens.
You can also run the same test using mp3 files, instead of QCP.

Finally, it may be a mod of some kind that allows you to listen to ringtones only with flip open. For this I am not sure though... I haven't run into something like that in the past, and I had no success duplicating this, 'cos I don't have a MAC!

Test it and let us know.

Nope, no headset ever on this phone. I tried to upload MP3 files, but it wouldn't accept them in the my_ringers folder. I get a message that says "The last operation failed: bad request." I have no mods on my phone, and it still doesn't work with the flip open, either. I'm beginning to think there's some piece of data, some tag or property in the QCP files (which I'm making in Windows) that isn't set for it to work properly on my phone.

Any ideas on how to make this work in Windows? I never figured out how to transfer files over Bluetooth in it, and switching back and forth between partitions is getting annoying.
