    newb questions

Hello, this is my first post.

I have a question reguarding microsd cards.

My fiance and I both have Verizon Razr V3M phones. We want to put ringtones on them from the computer. I was told that I can get a microsd card and then tranfer mp3's to the phone and I'm good. But, do I need 2 microsd cards or is 1 sufficient. I was looking at getting the 128mb Sandisk from Amazon for $12 (unless they are available cheaper).

Also, I have to convert all of the songs I want to use from MPEG4 (itunes) to MP3, is there a preferred converter (preferably free) that you use. I was directed towards the free trial of ImTOO Audio Encoder.

As far as the cutting software is concerned I was directed towards the free trial of Power MP3 Cutter Joiner. Does the community feel this is suffient or is there another program I should look into?

I would like to keep costs down as much as possible. If there are free trials of software that require emails, I have 6ish emails so i can download them multiple times. A mild inconvenience, but if it saves money then its ok with me.

    Thanks in advance.

For free sound editing try Audacity

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Now as for transferring From trans flash to the Verizon V3m is a little tougher. Who ever told you that you can transfer the ringtones may have mis-informed you. Verizon locks out all the transferring options to force you to buy what you want on your phones from their Get It Now shop.
There are ways around it but it requires "Hacking" your phone.

There are guides posted here on what you will need and how to do it but a little work you can have all the ringtones you want.

As for the microsd card all you need is one. just switch them between phones and you will be good.

Yeah you can transfer the ringtones to one memory card, then stick it in your phone, copy them to the phone. Then take it out and stick it in your wife's phone and copy them to her phone. EDIT: I think Village Idiot is right, it may not be so easy to just copy them from the TF card...

MPT does this and it's quite easy to find it for free. Just google it

No problem. We all like to keep the costs down. That's the beauty of Modding, is the most expensive part is buying your phone. The rest of it only costs your time

I'm not sure what seem edit you're talking about...The one in the sticky thread for connecting the MPT?

Yeah backup your seem before you edit it and you'll be ok. If you really screw it up, you can flash a firmware to it, that'll make it like a stock phone again
