all those skins will work for any CDMA phone including the k1m ...
as long as you do a font fix with skinner for moto b4 you install skin with p2k commander...it will work
Programs You Will Need
P2k Commander 4.9.E
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=7286
Self Installing P2k Drivers(to get p2kcommander for work)
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=2239
S4M(Skinner For Moto)
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=7099
RSD Lite(You Might Need This To Get P2kcommander to recognize phone)
Google itLast edited by BIGBLAK; 01-13-2008 at 01:14 PM.

I've been trying to install some skins to my V3a using P2Kcommander. Some things like rings will work just fine. But, when I try to install skins, I get the following messages:
Upload right to left.
P2k Tci IF down.
USB: IO timeout.
CMD: Data write fail.
Volume size fail.
Then the phone goes offline and comes back online.
Any idea why this model does this, and is there a way around it?
Thanks for your help.

All the rest of my mods have taken place with MSU running in the background. That was the only way I could get P2K to connect. So for this one mod I need RSD lite? Does it help with volume size recognition or something along those lines?
Thanks

i dont know eather rsd lite or msu should work i use rsd lite because i was told it as the best thing to use to get p2k commander to work
programs you need to get skins to work
1.p2k commander(most recent version)
2. p2k drivers
3. rsd you may need it to get p2k commander to connect(or msu)
4. skinner 4 moto( you need to do a font fix in order to get the GSM skins i listed to work otherwise you wont be able to see text when the skin is installed)
BitPim(is the only program that can delete the entire skin p2k cmmander cant delete the whole skin) look for the thread on how to get BitPim to work...
all those programs minis rsd lite is in the download section google rsd lite
here what you need to do
1st make sure you have the usb software installed correctly( keep phone disconnected until i tell you too)
2. install p2k drivers(i suggest getting the self installing drivers)
3. install p2kcommander(but dont open it just yet)
4. install skinner 4 moto [s4m]
5.install (rsd lite or msu)
6. connect phone
7. open up rsd lite
8. download the skin you want
9. extract skin
10. open the skin file DON'T INSTALL SKIN YET, look for the spiked icon(thats s4m) and click it to open up s4m and it will read the skin...
11. look on the right side look for e398 module click that(to make shure when skin is installed the wallpaper is put on the phone too
12. now look on the left you will see a medic i con that says "Font Fix" click that
13. then right above that you will fond install p2k commander(yellow star) icon click to install.... now this will not right away install skin but it will put the NEW edited skin eaither on the desktop or somewhere in the skin file.... you will see a install icon and a uninstall icon(the yellow star)
14. find the edited p2k skin file(yellow star) click install to install the skin and wait til the skin installed successfully message, it will ask you if you want to do a power cycle click YES and your phone will power off when you see the blue lights come back on check in the skins sectio of your phone to see if the skin installed correctly....
Note: the only GSM skins i know for sure will work on all CDMA phones are the ones i listed(i actually installed all of them on my phone, so i know they will work as long as you follow my directions) if you dont follow then it wont work.... there maybe more but you will have to try them for yourself
YES THAT MEANS THE K1M ALSO if its a CDMA IT WILL WORK
if you need to uninstall skins go find the Guide for BitPimLast edited by BIGBLAK; 01-16-2008 at 11:46 AM.

Look as though I'm wasting my time. I've tried using P2k with RSD lite running in the background and MSU. Both with the same results as before. I've tried using the 'install' file contained within the folders. But, each one will begin, but, end just as abruptly.
Apparently this model will not let you install skins.
Guess I can live with it.
Thanks anyway.
