    MotoKrZr K1m Bell New Phone

    Hello All,

I'm relatively new to this forum, so new I didn't know the difference between K1m and K1 lol Anywho. I have a new phone through Bell, its the MotoKrzr K1m (Verified by the case) and wanted to know what I can do to unlock this phone, and what would be the best course of action for this phone. I also have a few questions.

    1. What can I do with the phone if its unlocked?
    2. Is there any half decent Media management programs?
    3. How easy is it to find and install games?
    4. And last, is it safe to unlock?

I do have a bit of knowledge with unlocking, as I have just recently unlocked and Kitchen cooked a rom for my HTC Touch Vogue.

    Thanks,

the dif between k1 and k1m is k1 is gsm and k1m is cdma. gsm's use sim cards, cdma's don't. there is no unlocking a cdma phone, you can use it with any cdma carrier.since you are on bell you have the best firmware, as it includes java. for some media management tools try http://mobilerated.com or http://getjar.com. they games there as well. for best games try mobiles24 and http://hovr.com . you will need the self-installing p2k drivers, bitpim http://bitpim.org, and jad maker. markm006 knows the exact directory to put the games in, so probably one of us will give the details soon. it takes me a while because i'm posting from phone.

Okay, How does one go to installing the java applet? Or is it relatively simple? Copy file over, and install?

    Thanks for all your help.

the easy way is to use bitpim. yes you just copy the .jar and .jad to brew/jbed/preinstall, i believe.

    hey guys,

just navigate to /brew/mod/jbed/preinstall with BitPim or p2kcommander and toss the jars and jads in there

Then open up Games & Apps on your phone and they'll compile/install.

You might need to make your own jads with JAD Maker if you encounter any errors.
