Motorola Krzr K1m (Solo) + Java
I've got a Motorola KRZR K1m with the compagny Solo, that uses the same network then Bell. I have the java section for games and apps, but I must download them from my phone to get them. Is there a way to transfer them from my computer, without using the internet bandwidth on my phone?
For transfering, I found on several forums, that they use "p2kCommander" and "Motorola Phone Tools". The last one came with my phone. however, it doesn't have the "skin" and the "games/apps" section in it.
Thanks for your help
somebody?

Hey, looks like you've got the exact same phone as me, carrier and all. Theres only three ways I know of getting games on that phone. One is to use your mobile browser to download the files. The other is a lot more complicated, and more trouble than its worth - you have to use BitPim. Anyway using BitPim youre able to get into the folder that contains your java apps information but if you mess anything up there you're java will no longer work. The third is to save the games onto a micro SD card (you can even use MPT for this) and then just install them on your phone. All in all, either use a micro sd card if you have one or just use the internet, its only $5 a month. Heres a wap upload site if you decide to go the internet route:

I don't want to use the Internet on my phone and I currently don't have a SD Card.
Did you manage to make your games work with BitPim. I've tried uploading the game in the "preinstall" folder, but the phone don't seen to see them!
Also, how do you install the game with a SD card? Isn't it just an additional memory slot?
Thanks

Hey guys
looks like with Telus firmware we're stuck using BREW instead of JAVA, and at this point, no one knows how to put either of these game/app types on our Telus CDMA phones, I've been looking for months now lol.
All I know is that Motorola has a JAVA App Loader available for most Motos, but if you're running BREW then you're stuck having to buy them from the service provider
I'll be posting like a freak when I find out how to get JAR and JAD files on my phone and working lol

I only have an "Installed" directory, not a pre-install. I've tried putting it in "Installed" but it does not work. Also I cannot seem to get bitpim to work on this phone, is BitPim the only way to access the pre-install folder? Sorry for the noob questions. Thanks!
Haha! I just created a preinstall folder with p2kcommander and it worked! WOOT!
Some games are buggy/crappy, and I want to free up some space, how do I uninstall games that I want to take out, the delete option is not available from my phone.
I also cannot get MotoMidMan to read my phone but I can get P2Kcommander to read it, i've searched for drivers but I still cannot get MotoMidMan to read my phone, I also had RSD lite running. Nothing, can someone help? I want to get these games off my phone!Last edited by SylverSC; 03-31-2008 at 03:48 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

In the installed folder there should be a "selector.utf" file, copy that to your computer, save a backup, then open the file in a Hex editor or text editor. Each game has its own code string, each string has a "PRE-INSTALLED = Y", change the Y to an N to signify that its not part of the applications perminant system. Load the newly edited UTF file back to your phone then run your JAVA program. Each game/app will have its own options, now that its not attched to the JAVA program at the hip, you'll now have the option to delete the content. Enjoy
