Unbrand your Z9
I have finally found a way to unbrand your Z9. This is quite glitchy but it works alright. You need to do this
Download mma_ucp using p2ktools3
Open mma_ucp in xvi32
Offset 7D Change to 00
Offset 57 Change to 00
Delete old mma ucp and re-upload new one... restart phone.
You will now notice that the main menu option on the softkey has gone and the options button doesnt work.... simply switch off your phone and switch it back on you will have an unbranded Menu
Here are some screenies

Known bugs
In the settings menu you will find an extra icon called incoming call which does nothing.
There is no mediafinder icon instead you'll find icons saying images, videos, music which will lead to the mediafinder

Clarky, Could you provide perhaps a bit more information on how to find those specific offsets? Also, the link in our post is no longer valid.

use CTRL + G to go to the specific offset, click hexidecimal then type in which offset you need

Question on unbranding Z9
Clarkey,
Very interested in your unbranding of the Z9. I downloaded the mma_ucp file and offset 57 is changed from C4 to 00 which changes a A with umlaut on top to a box and offset 7D is changed from 65 to 00 which changes the letter 'e' in Menu to a box.
These seem like curious changes. Am I in the correct place in the file? Can you email a copy of your 'changed' mma_ucp file?
Thanks for the help.

which mma file to edit
any luck on NOT bricking the Z9 with this mod?
I notice there's a 'mma_ucp.temp' file in a\mobile\system that has 'Main Menu' where the mma_ucp file has 'Menu'. Is the *.temp file the ORIGINAL mma_ucp file as shipped by Motorola/AT&T and the one we've been trying to modify, the end result of whatever 'legitimate' changes we have made to the menu system?
Sure would be nice to unbrand the phone but I'm afraid to delete all the AT&T related files until this initial step is working properly.

Hi,
I'm new in this forum and tried the mma_ucp but nothing changed.
Is there any branding free flashfile for the z9 or a german language pack.
Thank you.
