Unlock K1/Z3 without TP

This guide was just re-translated and posted on m3 by me, The works here are still of the Original Poster.

You will need: -
MS Tool (Google it, it's warez)
K1/Z3 boot core( I will put a download link up shortly)

Here are the quick steps for this tutorial.

1. Open up MS tool and select your phone profile (K1 or Z3.
2. Connect phone in bootloader mode usiung the *+# + power on method
3. Select "Read backup" and choose PDS
*Note if your phone gets a critical error message here please do not use the rest of this tutorial.

If the backup was done without any error this means that the phone is compatible with the tutorial as mstool can read data from the RAMDLD and can write the bootloader and read the PDS!

Now only proceed if everything is okay: battery fully charged without sim card and memory card.


Let's continue :-

4. Conect phone in bootloader mode "*" + "#" + "power";
5. Open mstool and click in "Write Backup"
6. Select the file "K1__BOOTCORE_TP.bkp" for K1 or "Z3__BOOTCORE_TP.bkp" for Z3;
7. OK. After your phone shuts down automatically, remove the battery and replace the battery. The phone will be recognized by the PC. To see if everything is okay, open RSDLite and make sure it detected "S BLANK NEPTUNE LTE2"... If it is, everything is ok! The phone screen is black! This is OK.
8. Now open mstool and click "unlock". Wait for the phone being disconnected, remove the battery and replace the battery again;
9. In mstool click "Write Backup";
10. Select bootloader 0A.B2 for k1 and 0A.C0 for Z3;

Hey I hope this works.. been dying to unbrand this phone.... but where can i get MS Tools? is it from Mitsubishi? 'cause thats all I found on google. Also have you actually tried this process? I have a K1 (RED) edition.

About the "Check SIM" error I have no idea of what is happening... Never seen this error. What is your s/w version?

Uh, it was Stewpards MP, but now a brick. my bad. Ill get it fixed soon.


I would be brave enough to use the file to go into TP (Soft TP ) then try, but my K1's a brick.

Never tried it bought my k1 unlocked from factory.

Didn't work for me.

But it programs say that the phone is "Unlocked" where it isnt. My K1 was always a problem ^_^

With this method you have unlocked the phone but have not removed the RSA protection.

There is currently a reflash that is being worked when used with this method will remove the RSA protection to allow itunes.

My K1 won't even connect, which is unfortunate as it took a while to find MS Tool and get the downloaded program I found to actually work. The program starts up and looks to be in working order but when I click on Read Backup, I get a message that says, "No flash mode detected, Please switch on handset". I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not but I didn't get an error in Bootloader Mode:

Maybe I'm just in the wrong mode or something...don't know how to change that. Figures because I haven't been able to get a single mod to work for me in the K1 mod guides section...my thoughts are this...the problem probably lies between my monitor and the back of my chair.

Its because you have R47121. I dont think MS tool 8 or any other program supports that fw.

It looks like I've wasted a lot of time & effort to do anyrhing with this phone. Got it as a replacement for another (unlocked) one that was stolen. Bad choice.
