adlxmod XT 2.0 beta 1

This is a port of my Cliq's adlxmod 2.0.2 rom to work on CliqXT/Quench. Be sure to read the post as there are some issues due to the phone being different.

This is a review of adlxmod 2.0.2 on a Cliq. I put it here so you can have an idea of it.

Prerequisites to install adlxmod 2.x:

- You need a rooted phone. Use the RageAgainstTheCage rooting method, which is valid for any flavour of the Cliq/Dext, without tampering the radio. See: http://modmymobile.com/forums/399-mo...-3g-bands.html

Here is a patch to flash (no wipe) over adlxmod 2.0beta1 to add some functionalities and fix some issues:

- Rom can be used without SIM card
- Motoblur login can be skipped, so you use the phone without Motoblur account. (Menu -> skip during Motoblur signin).
- Removed LatimIME, so HTC IME is only IME (htc_ime Jonas Mod .27)
(Be sure you check the virtual bkd options, there is lot of good stuff there!)
- LauncherPro is installed in /data. I recommend using it, its App Drawer is way faster than BlurHome and has a lot of options!
- Cpu governor set to ondemand so cpu freq scales between min & max on demand (better battery saving/performance balance) - That rom has proven to give extrem battery life (>6days standby time, see Twitter / Alexandre Dumont: whaou amazing 6days standb ...)
- /system/etc/init.d support
- Market fingerprint fix
- Ad Blocking
- Tonymy01's DNS patch
- Adlx eons tweaks

What works: Call/Data, Wifi*, GPS, Vibration, Camera, Camcorder, Proximity Sensors, Bluetooth, Orientation, Trackpad*, Keys light!

- Bluetooth: Works. Can use a headset for calls. Must toggle speakerphone button. Press it and then press it again and the bluetooth headset works beautifully. I was able to also download phone book directory to my other handset. So it seems like bluetooth is working really nicely.
- GPS: Works. Gets location quickly and accurately. Tested it with Google Navigation which works good.
- Trackpad: SemiWorking. It will scroll to the extreme left/right and center. It will not do individual scrolling...
- Wifi: some testers report it tworking fine. others says to have Wifi ON before rebooting or else it won't turn ON on next reboot

What doesn't work: LED, Compass, Camera flash :-/

Known issues / Recommendations / FAQ:

This is a beta build, so please don't report the issues on my tracker at the moment.

- Issues getting Ringtones to work: "Ringer Toggle Widget" (installed) allows to toggle between Silent, Vibrate, and Ring. The Volume rocker only lets you change the Volume not go to Silent or Vibrate as it did before. Also initially the volume rocker just says silent, so you must deactivate silence using the following widget. The phone will always boot up on SILENT mode and you need the widget to remove it from Silence. FIXED
- Dialer: Must toggle speakerphone button to get sound. Same is true when using a WIRED headset. When you recieve a phone call you must also toggle speakerphone to hear the person.
- BlurHome app drawer is a bit laggy (not really my build issue), I recomend using Launcher Pro from the market (free) --> Really FAST!
- 100% CPU? - The system loads a ton of apps upon startup, I recommend using a task cleaner to kill them. In my case my phone runs really smooth!
- After flashing and restoring your conf, check the ringtones and notifications tones. Sometimes it is messed up. I'm not sure it's an issue of my rom.
- Unable to connect to 3g? if you have issues to connect to data (2g/3g), double check your APN!
- LiveWallpapers are not included. You may install that patch if you want to have LiveWallpaper: http://modmymobile.com/forums/403-mo...y-do-work.html (worked for Cliq)
- Wifi Tethering: use Barnacle from the Market.

Also included in the build (more or less the usual standard for adlxmod):

Removed apps:

- AdService, AmazonMP3, AudioPostCard, BlurUpdater, Calculator, LatinIME, MotoPhonePortal, MyAccount, MyAlbum, TeleNav, Upgrader, VisualVoiceMail
- As BlurUpdater / Upgrader are removed, you won't be bugged by OTAs notification when they arrive.
- You can install again the apps pushing them to /system/app or /data/app.

Adlxmod cosmetic changes:
- Some Eclair 2g/3g traffic arrows, sync arrows, network bars,
- Notification bar background (background transparent when you pull the noification handler, the handler itself is changed)
- Stripped down Motoblur Batwing emsignia bootscreen (T-Mobile removed)
